This website shows the main takeaways of the two-year field research led by Dr. Ariadna Reyes, Bernardo Vargas, and Dr. Josh Newton on environmental and climate injustices faced by low-income residents in a multi-racial unincorporated community of color in North Texas. This digital archive seeks to preserve the stories and lived experiences of Latinx, African American, and White residents in an underserved community in Dallas disproportionately exposed to environmental and climate injustices.

We thank the residents of Springville for trusting us and sharing their life stories with us. Thank you to the funders who made this research possible: the Mellon Foundation’s Crossing Latinidades Humanities Initiative and the University of Texas at Arlington for multiple streams of funding, including the Interdisciplinary Research Grant 2023-2024, the 2021-2022 Research Enhancement Program, and the 2022 and 2023 Geisel Grants.
